It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I start my blog for the month of November. The reason for the delight is the increasing popularity of ACCA in the Middle East. The most recent development in the Middle East is the initiative by the Bahrain Labour Fund to promote and sponsor 650 students in Bahrain on CAT and ACCA courses. The Bahrain Labour Fund in partnership with a local training centre have indeed taken a huge step forward in promoting and encouraging young Bahrainis to take up professional accounting, finance and management courses by sponsoring ACCA courses.
What is enthralling and exciting is that Bahrain is in the verge of breaking into a development spree and the need for professionals will only rise over the next few years and this wonderful programme will enable employers to obtain the services of the best of personnel to carry out their business and assist Management in decision-making.
The recognition of the qualification is increasing year-after-year and this is indeed a matter of pride. I should confess that I was amazed to see the increase in the number of students appearing for exams in the Middle East centers over the last couple of years.
It is vital to note that this project is a part of the Accounting and Finance Skill gap scheme of the Labour Fund. This indeed will be an eye-opener for other developing nations across the Middle-East to for see, identify and rectify any HR shortages that may crop up. I am sure all the other countries across the region will initiate such projects and help add momentum to the development and growth in this part of the world. Professionals are the need of the hour for they need to lead the fast-fueled growth that the region is witnessing. The able services of ACCA's and FCCA's will certainly contribute to the overall development of the society and ensure economic sumptuousness in the Gulf.
