Having spent just over 3 long years studying for my ACCA exams I was initially relieved to find out that I had passed my final two exams. Later came the feeling of pride and achievement. The sense of achievement on completion is difficult to put into words but I think I’ve been on a high for over a week now. While I still have not finished my experience, the remaining objectives are well on target and are much easier than taking exams.
I studied for ACCA by distance learning due to work and family commitments. While not the easiest way to study it enabled me to be very flexible about my studies. The books produced by Kaplan were very good and in particular the revision books were excellent. The revision books provided lots of question practice which enabled me to practice answering questioning firstly without time constraints and later in the required time.
Certainly I found the advanced papers much more challenging than the fundamental papers. It also became more difficult because of increasing responsibilities at work and the family requiring more attention. I know the learning process doesn’t end here but hopefully my continual professional development will not be as strenuous or stressful.
I am looking forward to reading novels rather than text books, spending the May Bank holiday out with the children rather than revising for my exams and looking forward to Christmas without the December exams getting in the way. Since this is my final blog I wish good luck to those of you just starting out or part way through your studies. It is worth it in the end and parts of it are even fun along the way. Keep up the hard work and you will get there in the end.
I can't really imagine how it feels like because i am used to the strenous ways of studies. Congratulations and enjoy your novels
